Viva il Papa

The old Nazi has been put out to pasture, and a new Pope has been elected. We can only speculate as to which virtues were deemed desirable to make a good Pope, but the votes have been cast and counted leaving Pope Francis the victor. Many other worthy candidates fell by the wayside.

So what do we know about the new Pope. Apparently, when he was 12, he proposed marriage to Amalia Damonte, who was also 12. According to Amalia, the young future Pope stated that if she would not marry him he would become a priest. possibly because that way he could continue to pursue 12 year olds.

That is a little unfair. In electing Pope Francis, the Catholic church has made great strides to stamp out their prevalent child abuse tag. Pope Francis only has one lung, so most kids should be able to out run him.
I know it's their church, and their Pope, so the catholics can nominate and vote for whoever they like, but did they have to elect an Argentinian? The last one was a German. Will the next one be Iraqi or Afghan?

    We should have had an Italian Pope. Not that I follow the catholic church anymore. What do they have to offer a modern society?

    Following the disgrace of the leader of the catholic church in Scotland, they've now gone and elected a Pope that wants to give the Falklands to Argentina. Why don't they just throw a turd at the Queen for good measure. They couldn't alienate the people of Great Britain much more than they already have.

    I 'm not often at a loss for words but its just incredulous how much attention this gets, people are celebrating this most unworthy of orgs....the whole thing should be dismantled respectfully...not just because religion has been proven to be unscientific mythology and superstition but because of its sexual abuse of minors.

      I'm not a religious person by any means, but I'm yet to see any proof that it is false, in the same way that I am yet to see any proof that it is true. I find your comment every bit as narrow minded as those professing to have faith in a god.

    The Catholic church serves for the good of mankind. They have a few weak members that have strayed from the righteous path, but to err is human. God bless you! For the Good Lord offers forgiveness.

    To err is human, but to sexually abuse a child is the act of an animal. I want no dealings with a god that can forgive that.

    I seduced a catholic priest for a dare once. It was so easy. They really aren't as holy as they make out. The dirty bugger kept coming back for more, he wouldn't take no for an answer.
